How to add money to your Cash Passport Prepaid Currency Card

Topping-up your Thomas Cook Cash Passport with more money is quick and easy - just choose from one of the following 3 options:

 

 1. IN-STORE

Take your Thomas Cook Cash Passport and your valid photo ID (passport or photo driving licence) to any participating Thomas Cook or Going Places store in the UK and they'll top-up the card for you.  

  • Payment can be made using cash, credit card or debit card
  • The top-up should appear on your Cash Passport balance within 24 hours; if it hasn't been credited after 24 hours, please contact the relevant Thomas Cook or Going Places store. To find your nearest store, click here

 2. BY PHONE

Call us on 0845 300 2449* (or +44 1733 457630*  if calling from abroad) and you can top-up your Thomas Cook Cash Passport using your debit or credit card.

  • Top-up payments can only be made by the primary Cash Passport cardholder
  • The top-up should appear on your Cash Passport balance within 24 hours; if it hasn't been credited after 5 working days, please call us using the phone numbers on the back of your card
  • Maximum top-ups by phone: £750 (or equivalent) within 24 hours and £1,500 (or equivalent) within 60 days

3. BY INTERNET OR TELEPHONE BANKING

If your bank offers online or telephone banking, you can simply send a credit to your Thomas Cook Cash Passport direct from your bank account.

Here's how it works:

1. Make sure you've registered your email address in the secure "My Account" area of the Cash Passport website

2. Check the list below to make sure we can accept credits from your particular

3. Set up a payment from your bank account to the following: 

Beneficiary: Travelex Card Services
Beneficiary's Bank: Barclays
Sort Code: 20-32-53
Account Number: 63807568
Reference: Quote the 16-digit number from the front of your Cash Passport (without this your payment will be returned!) 
Amount: Make sure the amount you send to your Cash Passport is within the permitted card limits.

4. We'll send you a confirmation via email that your top-up has been successful.  

  • This service is currently only available for customers of the following banks: Abbey, Alliance and Leicester, Bank of Scotland (HBOS), Barclays, Clydesdale, The Co-operative Bank, HSBC, Lloyds TSB, Nationwide, Natwest, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). We're working hard to increase this list - if your bank isn't listed here yet, you can still top-up your card in-store or by phone as detailed above
  • Top-ups can only be made from bank accounts which are in the name of the primary Cash Passport cardholder
  • If you've got a foreign currency Cash Passport, we'll convert your payment into the relevant foreign currency before crediting it to your Cash Passport balance. You'll find the exchange rate we've used on your top-up confirmation email
  • If you don't include your Cash Passport number with your payment, or if the bank account holder's name and the primary Cash Passport cardholder's names are different, we won't be able to top-up your card, and we'll return the payment to your bank
  • If given the option, ask your bank to send the payment immediately to avoid delays.  It may take up to 5 working days for your bank to send the payment - rest assured that we'll credit your Cash Passport balance within 24 hours of receiving it from your bank

GENERAL NOTES ABOUT TOP-UPS:

  • Top-ups are commission-free for all foreign currency Thomas Cook Cash Passports, but a commission of 2% (minimum £3.00 per top-up) is charged for UK£ Thomas Cook Cash Passport top-ups
  • The exchange rates used for phone, online banking and telephone banking top-ups may be different from the rates displayed on www.thomascook.com or in Thomas Cook/Going Places stores
  • The above top-up instructions only apply to Thomas Cook Cash Passports purchased in the UK - if you purchased your card outside the UK, please visit your local Cash Passport website for information on top-ups - click here

*For BT residential customers, calls to 0845 numbers will cost no more than 4p per minute, plus 9.9p call set-up fee (correct at May 2010). The price on non-BT phone lines may be different. Calls from abroad will be subject to international call charges from your foreign location to the UK - please check with the service provider.
