We have upgraded our system, which means that you will see a new log-in page and will now be prompted to enter the first 6 digits of your Cash Passport number. As security is our top concern, we want to make sure that you know that the new 'My Account' log-in page is a genuine website page.
Cash Passport is a prepaid currency card. You “load” your holiday spending money onto it in advance (at a participating store) then use it in millions of ATMs displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have) to access your money quickly and safely.
You can also pay for goods and services at merchants (including shops, restaurants and entertainments venues) displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
European countries accept chip and PIN cards as the primary form of payment for purchases and ATM use. Many travelers report difficulty when trying to use their non chip and PIN credit or debit cards at merchants and automated machines. The new chip and PIN MasterCard Cash Passport (EUR and GBP only) enables you to transact in this secure way when traveling. If the country you are visiting does not support this method, the payment terminal will provide you with a receipt to sign.
To reduce the threat of fraud, Cash Passports are not linked to your bank account.
Cash Passport is now chip and PIN protected.

Cash Passport offers all the peace of mind and security of traditional travelers cheques, with more convenience worldwide. It also makes it much easier to stay in control of your holiday budget than a standard debit or credit card.
Please click here for full detail of the fees and limits.
MasterCard® Cash Passport is available in British Pounds, Euros and US Dollars.
Visa Cash Passport is available in US Dollars.
You can use your Cash Passport at ATMs worldwide displaying either the Visa or Plus logo or MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). There are over 1 million Visa and 2 million MasterCard ATMs worldwide that you can withdraw local currency from. To check on their location, visit the ATM locator. Alternatively, you can use the Card to pay directly for goods or services at any merchants that accept Visa or MasterCard (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.
The countries currently affected by sanctions are:
Albania, Angola, Belarus, Bosnia, Cuba, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Macedonia, Montenegro, Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, São Tomé Príncipe, Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Turkmenistan, Zimbabwe.
You can use your Cash Passport to shop online (within the limits and restrictions of your Card) at any retailer who accepts Visa or MasterCard cards (depending on the type of Cash Passport you have). For your security you may be asked to provide the security code that’s printed on the signature strip on the back of the Card.
Cash Passport may not be used for money transfers or for accessing or purchasing goods from adult or gambling internet sites and must not be used for any unlawful activity. You must comply with the Card Terms and Conditions and all laws and regulations (including any foreign exchange controls) in respect of the Card in the country of purchase and/or use.

They will be happy to check and confirm the transaction details for you.
If there is a transaction which is not correct, Card Services can start the dispute process on your behalf and may request you to provide additional written information concerning any unrecognized transaction, or to complete a Dispute Form (See Terms and Conditions for further information). Please help them to help you by providing as much information as you can.
It is recommended that you check your transaction history and Card balance at least once a month.

The Card should work in any machine displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). If it doesn’t, you can get 24/7 help via the Global Emergency Assistance numbers. To find an ATM click here.

In some countries, you may be asked for a six digit PIN, when using an ATM. However, Cash Passport uses a standard four digit PIN, which will still be accepted if the ATM has been set-up correctly in compliance with MasterCard or Visa regulations. If you need assistance with any PIN issues, please call Card Services
Note that your PIN will be disabled if it is incorrectly entered 3 times and you will not be able to make any PIN based transactions with your Card. If the PIN is disabled, please contact the Global Emergency Assistance helpline for assistance. There may be a twenty four (24) hour delay in reactivating a disabled PIN.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money.
If the merchant supports it, you can use your Cash Passport to make a partial payment, and cover the balance with some other payment method. Just make sure you tell the cashier before you start the transaction and confirm the amount you want to be deducted from your Card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance in whichever way you want to pay it.
Usually, this occurs when you don’t have enough money on the Card to cover the purchase (though you can always use what money you do have on the Card to make a partial payment – see above).
Be aware that some retailers such as restaurants and mail order companies may require the Card to have an available balance greater than the purchase amount before they will authorize the payment.
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.

In some places (usually hotels or rental cars) you may be asked for your Card as “pre-authorization” of your final bill. It is not recommended to use your Cash Passport as a guarantee of payment. Some companies may estimate your final bill and then hold the amount for several days, during which you can’t access or spend those funds. You can, however, use your Cash Passport to settle your final bill.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an optional service that is sometimes offered by foreign retailers and ATM operators, giving cardholders the choice of paying in either the currency of the country they are visiting or their own domestic currency. If you make a purchase or ATM withdrawal in a country where the local currency is the same as the currency on your Card (e.g. using a British Pound Sterling Cash Passport in the United Kingdom) and opt in to a DCC service, this may result in a foreign exchange transaction at additional cost to you. If you wish to avoid this risk, you should opt out of the DCC service and choose to pay in the local currency. DCC can also be applied to any domestic debit or credit card, when used abroad.
You can either transfer your funds to a new Card or cash out the balance and close your Card.
You can withdraw funds from your Card up to your remaining Card balance from any ATM displaying the MasterCard®, Maestro or Cirrus Acceptance Marks, or from a Visa or Plus ATM (depending on the type of Cash Passport you have) and subject to the ATM’s issuing limits. You may also be able to cash out the balance at your Purchase Location or by calling Card Services. An administrative fee may apply. (See the Card Terms and Conditions for more details on fees and limits).
