We have upgraded our system, which means that you will see a new log-in page, where you will now be prompted to enter the first 6 digits of your Cash Passport card number, which can be found on the front or your Card. As security is our top concern, we want to make sure that you know that the new 'My Account' log-in page is a genuine website page.
Cash Passport is a prepaid currency card. You “load” your travel money onto it in advance, and then use it in millions of ATMs displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have) to access your money quickly and safely.
You can also pay for goods and services at merchants (including shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and online) displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
If you want to change the PIN for a MasterCard Cash Passport to something more memorable, simply go to a participating ATM in the UK, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark, select 'PIN Services' and follow the instructions on the screen. Click here for the MasterCard® ATM locator. Please note, you cannot change the PIN on a MasterCard Cash Passport over the phone or at any ATM outside of the UK.
If you have a Visa Cash Passport and you want to change your PIN to something more memorable, register your Card on 'My Account' and follow the instructions. Or you can call Card Services and change your PIN over the phone.
'My Account' is an online Card management area where, once you have registered your Cash Passport, you can check your balance, review your transaction history, register your mobile number for low balance text alerts (MasterCard only) and change your PIN (Visa Cash Passports only)
MasterCard® Cash Passport is chip and PIN protected, for even more security. The Visa Cash Passport is PIN and signature protected. To reduce the threat of fraud, Cash Passport does not reveal any personal information and is completely separate from your bank account.
For more information about the security features please click here.
Cash Passport is a convenient and safe way of carrying your travel money overseas, offering all the peace of mind and security of traditional travellers cheques, and the convenience of cash, worldwide.
Pre-loading your Cash Passport gives you more control of your travel budget than a standard debit or credit card and with fixed ATM fees it’s easier to manage your overseas spending.
Please click here for full details of the fees and limits of your MasterCard® or Visa Cash Passport.
A Cash Passport purchased in the UK can only be loaded with British Pounds (GBP). If you have a foreign currency Cash Passport, the amount loaded will be converted to the currency of your Card.
Cash Passport is available in seven currencies, all of which may not be available at some retail locations: British Pounds, Euros, US Dollars, Australian Dollars, South African Rand, New Zealand Dollars and Canadian Dollars.
You can withdraw local currency from ATMs worldwide, displaying either the Visa or Plus logo or MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). There are over 1 million Visa and over 2 million MasterCard ATMs worldwide, that you can withdraw local currency from. To check their location, visit the respective ATM locator. Alternatively, you can use the Card to pay directly for goods or services at merchants that accept Visa or MasterCard (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
No matter which currency Card you purchase, you can still use your Cash Passport in countries or areas with a different currency. The system will automatically convert your stored currency to the local one, for example, if you purchase a Euro Cash Passport, you can still use it at ATMs in America.
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed, as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM, or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.
The countries currently affected by sanctions are:
Cuba, Iran, Myanmar (Burma), Sudan and Syria
Other sanctions/restrictions may apply - please refer to the H.M. Treasury website at http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/fin_sanctions_role.htm for more details.
You can use your Cash Passport to shop online (within the limits and restrictions of your Card) at any merchant that accepts Visa or MasterCard cards (depending on the type of Cash Passport you have). For your security you may be asked to provide the security code that’s printed on the signature strip on the back of the Card.
Cash Passport may not be used for money transfers or for accessing or purchasing goods from adult or gambling internet sites and must not be used for any unlawful activity. You must comply with all laws and regulations (including any foreign exchange controls) in respect of the Card in the country of purchase and/or use.
Want to put more money onto your Card? There are several options. You can:
• Reload online - NEW!
• Return to your original purchase location to reload in branch
• Call Card Services and reload via the phone
• Transfer money via bank transfer with internet or telephone banking
Please note that online reloads will take up to 1 working day to be credited to your Cash Passport account.
Please note that a 2% commission will be charged for reloading your GBP Cash Passport online, by telephone or via internet/telephone banking. Commissions for reloading your Cash Passport in branch may vary per selling location.
Please note; Travelex Globe Cash Passport is NOT subject to a 2% reload commission charge.
Click on the link for My Account and enter the first 6 digits of your Cash Passport Card number. You will be taken to another screen which will either ask you to enter a User Name and Password or your full 16 digit Cash Passport Card number.

If you want to change the PIN for a MasterCard Cash Passport to something more memorable, simply go to a participating ATM in the UK displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark, select ‘PIN Services’ and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have any queries about your Cash Passport balance or you notice a Card transaction that you do not recognise, please notify the 24 hour Card Services team as soon as possible and in any event within thirteen (13) months of the transaction debit date. They will be happy to check and confirm the transaction details for you.
If there is a transaction which is not correct, Card Services can start the dispute process on your behalf and may request you to provide additional written information concerning any unrecognised transaction, or to complete a Dispute Claim Form. Please help them to help you by providing as much information as you can.
It is recommended that you check your transaction history and Card balance at least once a month.
Click here for further details on how to download and complete the Dispute Claim Form.
Details of how to contact the 24/7 Card Services team are available

Cash Passport should work in any cash machine displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark or Visa or Plus logo (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). If it doesn’t, the Card may be faulty and you can get 24/7 help via the Global Emergency Assistance numbers.
Please note, if an ATM screen prompts you to choose ‘which account’, it is recommended that you choose the ‘Credit’ option.
You can only withdraw cash from an ATM up to the available balance on your Cash Passport and if the amount is within the ATM’s issuing limit.
In some countries, you may be asked for a six digit PIN, when using an ATM. However, Cash Passport uses a standard four digit PIN, which will still be accepted if the ATM has been set-up correctly in compliance with MasterCard or Visa regulations.
If you need assistance with any PIN issues, please call Card Services.
Simply register your details on My Account, making sure that you include your mobile phone number and you will automatically receive a low balance text alert on the mobile phone number you registered when the balance on your card drops below £100 / currency equivalent.
Please note that balance alerts are only available for the MasterCard® Cash Passport and that we do not charge any fee for this text alert, but network operator charges may apply.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money. Instructions are available here.
If the merchant supports it you can use your Cash Passport to make a partial payment, and cover the balance with some other payment method. Just make sure you tell the cashier before you start the transaction and confirm the amount you want deducted from your Card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance in whichever way you want to pay it.
This should only happen when you don’t have enough money on the Card to cover the purchase (though you can always use what money you do have on the Cash Passport to make a partial payment if the merchant supports it – see above).
Be aware that some merchants, such as restaurants and car hire companies, may require the Card to have an available balance greater than the purchase amount before they will authorise the payment.
In some places (usually hotels or for car hire) you may be asked for your Card as “pre-authorisation” of your final payment. It is not recommended to use your Card as a guarantee of payment for hotels, car hire, etc. These companies may estimate your bill, and if you use your Card as a guarantee for the estimated amount, the funds will be temporarily unavailable to access or spend. You can of course use your Card to settle your final bill.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an optional service that is sometimes offered by foreign retailers and ATM operators, giving cardholders the choice of paying in either the currency of the country they are visiting or their own domestic currency. If you make a purchase or ATM withdrawal in a country where the local currency is the same as the currency on your Cash Passport (e.g. using a US Dollar Cash Passport in the USA) and you opt in to a DCC service, this may result in a foreign exchange transaction at additional cost to you. If you wish to avoid this risk, you should opt out of the DCC service and choose to pay in the local currency. DCC can also be applied to any domestic debit or credit card when used abroad.
No, cashback is not available on Cash Passport.
You can either transfer any funds to a new Card or cashout the balance and close your Cash Passport.
If you would prefer not to keep your Card at the end of your trip, you can withdraw your remaining balance (assuming it is within the ATM's issuing limits) from any ATM, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark or the Visa or Plus logo (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). Alternatively, to cashout your balance, enquire at your Purchase Location or call Card Services. A fee may apply (see your Terms and Conditions for more details on fees and limits).
When redeeming the balance of any unspent funds through Card Services, payment will only be made to a UK bank or building society account in your name. Redeeming the balance of unspent funds will usually be in Sterling at an exchange rate determined by us. You may redeem the balance of any unspent funds in the currency of the Card through Card Services. When redeeming a balance in the currency of the Card, your bank or building society may apply their own exchange rate fee to convert the funds into Sterling, unless you have an account in the currency of the Card.
For full details of cashouts or closing your Cash Passport click here.
We don’t normally provide paper statements, but you can check your Card balance and recent transaction history by registering your Cash Passport on
My Account, and print those details at your convenience.
