Reloading your Cash Passport
Want to put more money onto your card?
This couldn’t be easier. You can either:
1. Transfer money via bank transfer with internet or telephone banking
2. Call us to add funds to your Cash Passport
3. Visit any participating branch of the bank, travel agent or
retailer where you bought it
Please note that a 2% commission will be charged for reloading your GBP Cash Passport by Telephone or via Internet/Telephone banking. Commissions for reloading your Cash Passport in branch may vary per selling location.
If you purchased your card outside the UK, please visit your local Cash Passport website for information on how to reload it.
The most efficient way to reload your card will usually be a bank transfer. If you have internet banking or telephone banking facilities, most Cash Passports can be reloaded by phoning your bank or over the internet.
Reloading Cash Passport via Internet or Telephone banking is available to customers who have bought their card from Travelex UK, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Cambridge Building Society, Derbyshire Building Society, Dudley Building Society, Leeds Building Society, Saffron Building Society, Advantage or independent travel agents.
If you have purchased your Cash Passport from a different travel agent or retailer, please visit one of their branches to reload your card.
Payments will only be accepted from bank accounts in the name of the primary Cash Passport cardholder. Please include your 16 digit Cash Passport card number as a reference. If the Cash Passport card number is missing or the account holder’s name is not the same as the primary cardholder’s, we will be unable to reload your card and will return the funds to your bank account.
This is what you do:
- Make sure that your Cash Passport is eligible for internet banking or telephone banking reloads.
- Check the list of banks from which we can successfully process payments.
- Before logging on or contacting your bank to reload, please ensure you have registered your email address with us in the secure 'My Account' area of our website.
- Then you can either phone your bank or log onto your bank’s website and create a new payee to make a payment to the following:

Reference: Your 16 digit Cash Passport card number (on the front
of your card)
Amount: Please ensure the amount you load on your card is within
the allowed card limits.
If given the option, request that the funds leave your account immediately to avoid any delays. It may take up to 5 working days for your funds to be transferred by your bank, however be assured that we will load the funds onto your Cash Passport within 24 hours from when we receive them.
We will send you confirmation, either via email or post, that your reload has been successful.
If you have a Euro, US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar or South African Rand Cash Passport, we will convert your payment into the relevant currency, before applying it to your card account. You will find the rate we used on your reload confirmation.
At present we are able to successfully process Cash Passport internet banking and telephone banking reloads from customers holding current accounts at any of the following banks:
- Abbey Alliance and Leicester Bank of Scotland (HBOS)
- Barclays Clydesdale
- The Co-operative Bank
- HSBC
- Lloyds TSB
- Nationwide
- Natwest
- Royal Bank of Scotland
Travelex are committed to providing their customers with a high quality service and as such are in the process of extending the above list. If your bank does not appear in this list you can still reload your Cash Passport by phone, using a debit or credit card, or in branch.
Please note that the Cash Passport rate used for internet or telephone banking as well as telephone reloads may differ from the rate displayed on www.travelex.co.uk or within Travelex branches.
You may also be able to reload your Cash Passport by telephone. Simply call us on 0845 300 2449 or +44 1733 457630 (from abroad) and you can transfer funds directly from your debit or credit card. Payments will only be accepted from the primary Cash Passport cardholder.
Reloading Cash Passport by telephone is available to customers who have bought their card from Travelex UK, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Cambridge Building Society, Derbyshire Building Society, Dudley Building Society, Leeds Building Society, Saffron Building Society, Advantage or independent travel agents.

Reloads by telephone may be made up to a maximum of £750 (or equivalent) within 24 hours and up to an overall maximum of £1500 within a 60 day period and should appear on your Cash Passport balance within 24 hours. If the funds have not appeared after five working days, please call us on the numbers on the back of your card.
Please note that the Cash Passport rate used for telephone reloads, as well as internet or telephone banking may differ from the rate displayed on www.travelex.co.uk or within Travelex branches.
Just take your Cash Passport and valid photo ID to any participating branch of the bank, travel agent or retailer where you bought it, and they will reload the card for you.
