Cash Passport is a prepaid MasterCard traveller’s card. You load your spending money onto it (at any participating SC First Bank branch in Korea) before you travel, and then use it to withdraw local currency from ATMs outside Korea, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark. Cash Passport is also accepted for purchases at merchants outside Korea that accept MasterCard. As the Card is a traveller’s card, it can only be used in countries outside of Korea. Fees and limits may apply to loading and using your Cash Passport.
The Cash Passport ATM card is PIN protected. To reduce the threat of fraud it doesn’t reveal any personal information and it’s completely separate from your bank account.

Cash Passport is a convenient and safe way of carrying your travel money overseas, offering all the peace of mind and security of traditional travellers cheques, and the convenience of cash, worldwide.
Pre-loading your Cash Passport gives you more control of your travel budget than a standard debit or credit card and with fixed ATM fees it’s easier to manage your overseas spending.
Your Cash Passport is PIN and signature protected, so you can withdraw your money from all ATMs outside Korea, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark, you also don't need to spend time searching for a location that accepts travellers' cheques.

Your Cash Passport should work in any ATM outside Korea, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark. If it doesn’t, the Card may be faulty and you can get 24/7 help from Card Services, via the Global Emergency Assistance numbers.
Please note, if an ATM screen prompts you to choose ‘which account’, it is recommended that you choose the ‘Credit’ option.
You can only withdraw cash from an ATM up to the available balance on your Cash Passport and if the amount is within the ATM’s issuing limit.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money. Instructions are available here.
This may happen when you don’t have enough money on the Card to withdraw, or spend, the amount you want.
If the merchant can support it, you may be able to use the available balance on your Card for part payment on a purchase and complete with another payment method. Just make sure you tell the cashier before paying and confirm the amount you want deducted from your Card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance in whichever way you want to pay it.
When making a purchase, please make sure you request to sign the receipt, even if the merchant offers the option to enter your PIN. Your Card will only work with a signature at merchants (outside Korea), and entering your PIN may cause the transaction to be declined.
Your Cash Passport will also be declined if it has been blocked for any reason. If this is the case, please contact Card Services immediately.
In some places you may be asked for your Cash Passport as “pre-authorisation” of your final payment.
It is not recommended to use your Card as a guarantee of payment, for example as a deposit for hotels, cruise lines or car rental, as merchants such as these may estimate the final bill and this amount will be placed on ‘hold’ by the merchant and become temporarily unavailable. Only the actual amount of the final bill will be deducted from your Card, although it may take up to seven (7) days from the date of the transaction before the difference is available for you to spend.
You can, however, use your Cash Passport to settle your final bill.
You can either transfer your funds to a new Cash Passport or cashout the balance. Details are available here.
