If the funds have never reached the Cash Passport then you will need to contact Card Services, and your query will be investigated.
The card will not be loaded and funds will be returned to the Bank Account that they were sent from. Payments will only be accepted from Bank Accounts in the name of the primary cardholder. Funds transferred from a business account will not be accepted.
It may take up to 5 working days for your funds to be transferred by your bank, however, be assured that we will load the funds onto your Cash Passport within 24 hours of receipt. A confirmation email will be sent to you, which will confirm the bank transfer has been completed and your Card has been loaded successfully. The email will also confirm any exchange rate that has been applied. Please ensure you have registered your email address with us in the secure ‘My Account’ area of our website.
Cash Passport is chip and PIN protected. To reduce the threat of fraud it doesn’t reveal any personal information and it’s completely separate from your bank account.

Cash Passport offers all the peace of mind and security of traditional travellers cheques, with more convenience worldwide. It also makes it much easier to stay in control of your holiday budget than a standard debit or credit card: you can only spend the pre-loaded balance and with fixed ATM fees it’s easier to manage your overseas spending.
Please click here for full details of the fees and limits.
A Cash Passport purchased in the Netherlands can only be loaded with Euros (EUR). If you have a foreign currency Cash Passport, the amount loaded will be converted to the currency of your Card. Cash Passport is available in three currencies, all of which may not be available at some retail locations: British Pounds, Euros and US Dollars.
Withdraw local currency at any ATM in the world, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark: there are more than 2 million to choose from and you can check their locations using the ATM locator. You can also use your Cash Passport at any merchants worldwide (e.g. shops and restaurants) displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark.
No matter which currency Card you purchase, you can still use your Cash Passport in countries or areas with a different currency. The system will automatically convert your stored currency to the local one, for example, if you purchase a Euro Cash Passport, you can still use it at ATMs in America.
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed, as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM, or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.
The countries currently affected by sanctions are:
Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria
You can shop to your heart’s content (and the cash limit of your card) at any retailer who accepts MasterCard cards. For your security you may be asked to provide the security code that’s printed on the signature strip on the back of the card.
Please note the Card may not be used for money transfers or for accessing or purchasing goods from adult or gambling internet sites and must not be used for any unlawful activity. You must comply with all laws and regulations (including any foreign exchange controls) in respect of the Card in the country of purchase and/or use.
Easy. Just take your Cash Passport, money and valid photo ID (Passport, National photo ID card (issued within the EU), Dutch photo driving licence or a Foreign residents permit, issued in the Netherlands) to any GWK Travelex store in the Netherlands and they will reload the card for you.
Go to My Account and click the ‘Sign up’ button. You’ll be prompted to enter the primary card number. If you have more than one Cash Passport card ignore the last digit on each one and pick out the card with the lowest number: that’s your primary card.
Once you’ve signed in you can view your transaction history, change your PIN and manage your account.
You can manage these everyday aspects of your account online as soon as you’ve registered online at My Account, or you can call one of the Card Services numbers (they’re on the back of your card). Please note that you cannot change your PIN at an ATM.
You’ll need to download and complete our transaction query form. Click here for further details.

The card should work in any machine displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark. If it doesn’t the card may be faulty and you can get 24/7 help from Card Services via the
Global Emergency Assistance numbers.
Cash Passport uses a standard four digit PIN, but in some European or Far East locations you may be asked for a six digit PIN. However, if the ATM has been set-up correctly in compliance with MasterCard regulations you can still use your four digit PIN.
Note that if you make three invalid PIN entry attempts the PIN will be blocked for 24 hours, though you can always get it released by calling the Travelex Global Emergency Assistance helpline.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money. Instructions are available here.
If the merchant supports it you can use your Cash Passport to make a partial payment, and cover the balance with some other payment method. Just make sure you tell the cashier before you start the transaction and confirm the amount you want deducted from your card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance in whichever way you want to pay.
This should only happen when you don’t have enough money on the card to cover the purchase (though you can always use what money you do have on the card to make a partial payment if the merchant supports it – see above).
Be aware that some retailers such as restaurants and mail order companies may require the card to have an available balance greater than the purchase amount before they will authorise the payment.
In some places (usually hotels or for car hire) you may be asked for your card as “pre-authorisation” of your final payment. We don’t recommend you agree to this, because some of these companies may estimate your final bill and deduct money against that estimate for up to seven days, leaving you without access to the money held for other things. You can of course use the card to settle the final bill when it becomes due.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an optional service that is sometimes offered by foreign retailers and ATM operators giving cardholders the choice of paying in either the currency of the country they are visiting or their domestic currency. If you make a purchase or ATM withdrawal in a country where the local currency is the same as the currency of your card (e.g. using a US Dollar Cash Passport in the USA) and opt in to a DCC service, this may result in a foreign exchange transaction at additional cost to you. If you wish to avoid this risk, you should opt out of the DCC service and choose to pay in the local currency. DCC can also be applied to any domestic debit or credit card when used abroad.
No, cashback is not available on Cash Passport.
You can either transfer your account and any funds to a new card or cashout the balance and close your account.
If you would prefer not to keep your card for another trip, you can withdraw your remaining balance from any ATM displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark or you can cashout the balance to your bank account at any GWK Travelex branch in the Netherlands or by calling Card Services. An administrative fee applies. (See your User guide)
