Cash Passport is a prepaid currency card. You “load” your holiday spending money onto it in advance (at a participating retail outlet) then use it at millions of ATMs and retailers across the world to access your money quickly and safely.
We have upgraded our systems which means that you will see a new log-in page and will now be prompted to enter your card number. As security is our top concern, we want to make sure that you know that the new
My Account log-in page is a genuine Travelex website page.
Cash Passport is PIN and signature protected. To reduce the threat of fraud it doesn’t reveal any personal information and it’s completely separate from your bank account.
For more information about the security features please click here.
Cash Passport offers all the peace of mind and security of traditional traveller’s cheques, with more convenience worldwide. It also makes it much easier to stay in control of your holiday budget than a standard debit or credit card: you can only spend the pre-loaded balance and with fixed ATM fees it’s easier to manage your overseas spending.
Cash Passport is available in Japanese Yen, Euro, Australian Dollar, US Dollar and GBP but you can still use Cash Passport worldwide. The CUP Cash Passport is available in Japanese Yen only.
Withdraw local currency at any ATM in the world: there are more than 2 million to choose from and you can check their locations using the ATM locators.
Use your CUP Cash Passport to withdraw local currency from all ATMs in Mainland China and most ATMs in Hong Kong and Macau. It is also accepted for purchases at over 1.3 million retailers.
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to use your card in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.
The countries currently affected by sanctions are:
Myanmar (Burma), Cuba, Iran and Sudan
This couldn’t be easier. Just take your card and valid photo ID to any participating branch of the bank, travel agent or retailer where you bought it, and they will reload the card for you.
You may also be able to reload at an ATM in Japan, over the phone or via internet banking, if your bank account has these facilities.
Go to My Account and click the ‘Sign up’ button. You’ll be prompted to enter the primary card number. If you have more than one Cash Passport card ignore the last digit on each one and pick out the card with the lowest number: that’s your primary card.
Once you’ve signed in you can view your transaction history, change your PIN and manage your account.
You can manage these everyday aspect of your account online as soon as you’ve registered online at My Account, or you can call one of the Card Services numbers (they’re on the back of your card). Please note that you cannot change your PIN at an ATM.
You’ll need to download and complete our transaction query form. Click here for further details.
Full details of how to contact
Card Services are available

The card should work in any machine carrying the MasterCard or Maestro logo. If it doesn’t the card may be faulty and you can get 24/7 help from Travelex via the
Global Emergency Assistance numbers.
Cash Passport uses a standard four digit PIN, but in some European or Far East locations you may be asked for a six digit PIN. However, if the ATM has been set-up correctly you can still use your four digit PIN.
Note that if you make three invalid PIN entry attempts the card will be blocked for 24 hours, though you can always get it released by calling the Travelex Global Emergency Assistance helpline.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money. Instructions are available here.
You can either transfer your account and any funds to a new card or cashout the balance and close your account.
If you would prefer not to keep your card for another trip, you can withdraw your remaining balance from a participating ATM outside of Japan, or you can cashout the balance to your bank account at the retailer you bought the card from or by calling Card Services. An administrative fee applies. (See clause 5 of your Terms and Conditions)
We don’t provide paper statements but you can always view your transactions and statements securely by visiting
