'My Account' is an online Card management area where, once you have registered your Cash Passport, you can check your balance, review your transaction history, and change your PIN (Visa ATM and Visa Debit Cash Passport Cards only)
We have upgraded our system, which means that you will see a new log-in page, where you will now be prompted to enter the first six digits of your Cash Passport Card number, which can be found on your Card. As security is our top concern, we want to make sure that you know that the new 'My Account' log-in page is a genuine website page.
Click on the link for 'My Account' on this website and enter the first six digits of your primary Cash Passport Card number (to identify which Card is your primary Card, ignore the last digit on each Card number and pick out the Card with the lowest number: that’s your primary Card). You will then be taken to another screen, which will ask you to enter a User Name and Password.
The first time you try to log in to ‘My Account’ you will not have a User Name and Password, so please select the 'Need a Login?' (MasterCard cardholders) or 'Sign Up' (Visa cardholders) link and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Cash Passport is a prepaid currency card. You “load” your travel money onto it in advance, and then use it in millions of ATMs worldwide, displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have) to access your money quickly and safely.
You can also pay for goods and services at merchants (including shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and online), displaying the Visa or Plus logo or the MasterCard Acceptance Mark (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
The Visa ATM Card is PIN protected and the Visa Debit Card is PIN and signature protected. For even more security, the Prepaid MasterCard® Currency Card and the Cash Passport Prepaid Visa TravelMoney Card are chip and PIN protected.
To reduce the threat of fraud, none of the Cash Passport Cards reveal any personal information and they are all completely separate from your bank account.
For more information about the security features, please click here.
In Australia you can choose from four Cash Passports:
- The Prepaid MasterCard® Currency card, which gives you access to your funds at 1.9 million MasterCard ATMs in over 210 countries and which can also be used to make purchases, at over 32 million MasterCard merchants worldwide, or online. For added security, the Card is chip and PIN protected, with a signature panel on the back.
- The Cash Passport Prepaid Visa TravelMoney Card (available from Suncorp and Heritage Bank branches, and also chip and PIN protected, with a signature panel on the back), which can be used to make (online) purchases from Visa retailers and withdraw money from Visa ATMs, worldwide.
- The Visa Debit Cash Passport Card, which can be used globally to withdraw funds at Visa ATMs and to make purchases at over 30 million Visa retailers. The Visa Debit card is also accepted for online shopping. The Card is PIN protected and also has a signature panel for point of sale transactions.
- The Visa ATM Cash Passport Card, which gives you access to local currency at over 1 million Visa ATMs worldwide. It is PIN protected and has no signature panel.
The Prepaid MasterCard Currency Card, the Cash Passport Prepaid Visa TravelMoney Card and the Visa Debit Cash Passport Card are all available in five currencies - EU€, GB£, US$, NZ$ and AU$
The Visa ATM Card is available in seven currencies - EU€, GB£, US$, HK$, SG$, NZ$ and AU$.
All four types of Cash Passport Cards come with an Additional Card (as a back-up, in case the first Card is lost or stolen), and 24/7 Global Emergency Assistance.
Cash Passport is a convenient and safe way of carrying your travel money overseas, offering all the peace of mind and security of traditional travellers cheques, plus the convenience of cash, worldwide.
Pre-loading your Cash Passport gives you more control of your travel budget than a standard debit or credit card and with fixed ATM fees and no transaction fees on purchases, it’s easier to manage your overseas spending.
A Cash Passport Card purchased in Australia can only be loaded with Australian Dollars (AUD). If you purchase a foreign currency Cash Passport Card, the AUD amount loaded will be converted to the currency of your Card.
The Prepaid MasterCard Currency Card, the Cash Passport Prepaid Visa TravelMoney Card and the Visa Debit Cash Passport Card are all available in five currencies - EU€, GB£, US$, NZ$ and AU$
The Visa ATM Cash Passport Card is available in seven currencies - EU€, GB£, US$, HK$, SG$, NZ$ and AU$.
All types of Cash Passport Cards can be used to withdraw local currency from ATMs worldwide, displaying either the Visa or Plus logo or MasterCard® Acceptance Mark (depending on which Cash Passport Card you have). There are over 1 million Visa and 1.9 million MasterCard ATMs worldwide, that you can withdraw local currency from. To check their location, visit the respective ATM locator.
You can also use the Visa Debit Card, the Cash Passport Visa Prepaid TravelMoney or Prepaid MasterCard Currency Card to pay directly for goods or services at merchants that accept Visa or MasterCard (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have).
No matter which currency Card you purchase, you can still use your Cash Passport in countries or areas with a different currency. The system will automatically convert your stored currency to the local one, for example, if you purchase a Euro Cash Passport, you can still use it at ATMs in America*.
Please note: There are a number of countries where the use of Cash Passport is not allowed, as they are subject to US economic sanctions. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM, or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries, your request will be declined and the reason given as 'Decline, prohibited country'.
The countries currently affected by sanctions are:
Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria
* Transactions in a currency other than the currency of the Card will be exchanged to the currency on the Card at an exchange rate determined by MasterCard / Visa on the day the transaction is processed, increased by a percentage determined by the issuer.
You can use your Visa Debit Cash Passport Card, your Cash Passport Visa Prepaid TravelMoney or your Prepaid MasterCard Currency Card to shop online (within the limits and restrictions of your Card), at any merchant that accepts Visa or MasterCard cards (depending on the type of Cash Passport you have). NOTE: The Visa ATM Cash Passport Card cannot be used for online shopping.
By using a Cash Passport in the currency that the online site trades in, you know exactly what your purchase will cost and you won’t be stung by unknown exchange rate fees, like, for example when you use your domestic credit or debit card. For your security, you may be asked to provide the security code that’s printed on the signature strip on the back of the Cash Passport Card.
Cash Passport Cards may not be used for money transfers or for accessing or purchasing goods from adult or gambling internet sites and must not be used for any unlawful activity. You must comply with all laws and regulations (including any foreign exchange controls) in respect of the Card in the country of purchase and/or use.
Even with a zero balance, your Cash Passport Card is still valid (up to the expiry date on the Card), and you can reload it for your next trip anytime.
There are several options available to Australian cardholders for reloading funds onto their Cash Passport: in person at the place of purchase, via SMS, or online.
For more information on how to reload your Cash Passport, please click here.
If you purchased your Cash Passport outside Australia, please visit your local Cash Passport website for information on how to reload it. See www.cashpassport.com for Cash Passport websites for other countries.
Please click here for full details of the fees and limits.
You can manage these everyday aspects of your Cash Passport online as soon as you’ve registered on 'My Account', or you can call Card Services.
Please note that you cannot change your PIN if you have a chip and PIN enabled Cash Passport Prepaid Visa TravelMoney Card or a Prepaid MasterCard Currency Card.
If you have a Visa ATM card or a Visa Debit card and you want to change your PIN to something more memorable, you can follow the instructions on ‘My Account’, once you’ve registered your Card.
24/7 Global Emergency Assistance will get you back in control of your money. Instructions are available here.
This should only happen when you don’t have enough money on the Card to cover the purchase (though you can always use what money you do have on the Cash Passport Card to make a partial payment, if the merchant supports it – see above).
Be aware that some merchants, such as restaurants and car hire companies, may require the Card to have an available balance greater than the purchase amount, before they will authorise the payment.
Cash Passport should work in any cash machine displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark or Visa or Plus logo (depending on which type of Cash Passport Card you have). If it doesn’t, the Card may be faulty and you can get 24/7 help from Card Services, via the Global Emergency Assistance numbers.
Please note, if an ATM screen prompts you to choose ‘which account?’, it is recommended that you choose the ‘Credit’ option.
You can only withdraw cash from an ATM up to the available balance on your Cash Passport Card (including any applicable fees) and if the amount is within the ATM’s issuing limit.
In some countries, you may be asked for a six digit PIN, when using an ATM. However, Cash Passport uses a standard four digit PIN, which will still be accepted if the ATM has been set up correctly in compliance with MasterCard or Visa regulations.
If you need assistance with any PIN issues, please call Card Services.
Details of how to contact the 24/7 Card Services team are available
here.

If the merchant supports it, you can use your Cash Passport Card to make a partial payment, and cover the balance with another payment method. Just make sure you tell the cashier before you start the transaction and confirm the amount you want to be deducted from your Card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance in whichever way you want to pay it.
If you have any queries about your Cash Passport Card balance or you notice a Card transaction that you do not recognise, please notify the 24 hour Card Services team as soon as possible and in any event within thirty (30) days of the transaction debit date. They will be happy to check and confirm the transaction details for you.
If there is a transaction which is not correct, Card Services can start the dispute process on your behalf and may request you to provide additional written information concerning any unrecognised transaction, or to complete a Dispute Claim Form. Please help them to assist you by providing as much information as you can.
It is recommended that you check your transaction history and Card balance at least once a month. You can do this online, once you have registered your Card on ‘My Account’.
Click here for further details on how to download and complete the Dispute Claim Form.
In some places you may be asked for your Cash Passport Card as “pre-authorisation” of your final payment. It is not recommended to use your Cash Passport as a guarantee of paymnet for hotels, car rentals etc.. These companies may estimate your bill, and if you use your Card as a guarantee for the estimated amount, the funds will be temporarily unavailable to access or spend. You can of course use your Cash Passport to settle your final bill.
Yes. We are required by law to provide a paper statement every 6 months.
If you have closed your Cash Passport Card in the last six months, you will still receive a statement showing any activity on your Card during this time.
You can also view your Cash Passport transactions and statements securely, by registering your Card online on 'My Account' and printing those details at your convenience.
The monthly inactivity fee is only applicable after 12 months of inactivity. The fee is charged at the commencement of each month if you have not initiated any financial transactions on the card for the previous 12 months or more. Unless your card is used again (or reloaded), this fee applies each month until the card is closed or the remaining balance is less than the activity fee.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an optional service that is sometimes offered by retailers and ATM operators abroad, giving cardholders the choice of paying in either the currency of the country they are visiting or their own domestic currency, i.e. Australian dollars
If you make a purchase or ATM withdrawal in a country where the local currency is the same as the currency on your Cash Passport (e.g. using a US Dollar Cash Passport in the USA) and you opt to pay in Australian dollars, this may result in a foreign exchange conversion ar additional cost to you. To avoid this risk, choose to pay in the currency of your Cash Passport.
Remember: If your Cash Passport is in the currency of the country you are in, you should NOT opt in to DCC.
You can either purchase a new Card and transfer your funds or cash out the balance and close your Cash Passport.
Please click here for more information.
If you would prefer not to keep your Card for another trip, you can withdraw your remaining balance (assuming it is within the ATM's issuing limits) from any ATM, displaying the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark or the Visa or Plus logo (depending on which type of Cash Passport you have). Alternatively, you can choose to cash out your balance and close your Card. A fee may apply (see your Terms and Conditions for more details on fees and limits).
